Find Your Perfect Match: Measuring for S, M, L, XL Lingerie
At Solta Lingerie, we use simple Alpha sizing (S, M, L, XL) for our collections, making your shopping experience straightforward. However, to ensure you get the absolute perfect fit when converting to our sizing, it is essential to know your current body measurements.
We believe that knowing your measurements for your bust, waist, and hips is the key to choosing the right size every time. A comfortable fit means freedom, and freedom starts with knowing your body.
Follow our simple measurement guide to find your size at home, then use these numbers with our Solta Size Guide chart to choose your ideal Alpha size.
Step-by-Step: Taking Your Key Body Measurements
Measurement 1: The Bust (For Bra/Top Sizing)
This measurement is crucial for your bra or bodysuit top fit.
Wrap the Tape: Wrap the tape measure around your back and across the fullest part of your bust. This is usually over the nipple line.
Ensure Level: Check in the mirror that the tape is horizontal and not drooping at the back.
Read the Number: Keep the tape snug but not so tight that it compresses the chest. Note the measurement in cm.
Measurement 2: The Under Bust (For Bra Band Fit)
This helps determine the support of your bra band.
Position the Tape: Place the tape measure directly beneath your bust, where your bra band normally sits.
Keep it Snug: Pull the tape slightly tighter than the bust measurement, and exhale to get the smallest possible number. Note the measurement in cm.
Measurement 3: The Waist (For Briefs and Bodysuits)
This measurement defines the slimmest part of your torso.
Find the Spot: Measure around your natural waistline, typically just above your belly button.
Stand Naturally: Relax your posture (don’t suck in your tummy!). Note the measurement in cm.
Measurement 4: The Hips (For Knickers/Bottoms)
This is key for all knickers and bottoms to ensure comfort and no digging.
Position the Tape: Measure around the fullest part of your hips and bottom.
Check in the Mirror: Ensure the tape measure is level all the way around and parallel to the floor. Note the measurement in cm.
